In case you were wondering about those IM messages you have been getting from the kwippy gtalk client, We have been tweaking it around a bit in the last few days. And this is the official announcement that we have started giving out IM notifications.

When somebody starts following you, comments on your kwip,buzzes you or when you have subscribed to a comment thread, you will be notified by an IM message. If you are too keen about somebody’s kwips you could also start getting notifications about that users new kwips as n when they happen. Just below the ‘unfollow link’ on that users kwips page there is a ‘change settings’ option from where you can turn on or off the IM notification for that user. We have kept the IM notification as ‘off’ for all people you are following, so you don’t get inundated by lots of messages all of a sudden.

If you want additional control over email and IM notification, you can go to your dashboard > account settings, and switch on or off the feature you want. Yahoo users don’t need to feel jealous as we love you too and plan to roll out similar notifications for you as well :).
